As the global packaging market is huge, there is a well-defined call for sustainable solutions as packaging materials. Development of green polymeric materials that would not involve the use of toxic or noxious components in the manufacture and could allow degradation via a natural composting process is needed. These materials still need to fulfill the requirements set for food and/or pharmaceutical packages.
