What is ForestTech

ForestTech Industrial Platform is VTT’s internet service to the forest industry and the companies within its value chains. It offers you an easy access to VTT’s R&D breakthroughs and expertise in this sector. By registering to ForestTech you get an access to reports, posters, brochures, future project ideas and other useful information and downloadable material plus a monthly newsletter free of charge.

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland is the leading research provider in the fields of pulping, papermaking, printing and packaging. VTT helps the industry to increase its competitiveness by developing its unit processes, introducing new production concepts and creating new and sustainable products.

ForestTech Industrial Platform gives you information about VTT’s public research in practical format, like presentation slides. On the other hand it gives you a broad view of what are VTT’s and its network’s capabilities in this field. We hope you to join the discussion on interesting research challenges. Whatever the needs or challenges of our customers are we can adapt our service consepts accordingly. We work for our customers’ success from small scale expert services to strategic development partnerships. Our work can vary from laboratory analysis or pilot testing of new materials to coordination of targeted research programs.

To get access to all information in the ForestTech Industrial Platform you need to register to the service by filling in the registration form here. Registering is free of charge. By registering you get access to the ForestTech Industrial Platform and a monthly newsletter with interesting findings of our public research, new project ideas etc.

1. Under the Theme EFFICIENT PROCESSES you’ll find information about VTT’s expertise areas along the value chain. In many areas you’ll find also downloadable reports and presentation material. The extensive capability portfolio enables VTT to serve the whole value chains of fiber-based products in an efficient and flexible way.
2. In the theme INSPIRING TECHNOLOGIES we describe some of the most interesting technologies VTT has developed or is currently working on. VTT is constantly looking for partners with whom these technologies can further be developed and taken into industrial use.
3. Technologies are interesting only if they enable the industry to bring new product or service concepts into the market. Some of the new concepts that VTT is currently working on are defined in the theme TRAILBLAZER PRODUCTS. Follow up this theme whenyou are looking for new products or features to spice up your own product portfolio. Or if you see yourself as a provider of enabling technologies, you will find new ideas in this theme.
