A new method for producing plant-based drinking bottles from furan dicarboxylic acid

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland has developed a new technology that enables production of plant-based products such as drinking bottles, paints and industrial resins. With the new environmentally sound and economical method, furan dicarboxylic acid (FDCA) is produced from plant sugars. FDCA is a building block for a range of biopolymers.
