Atomic and molecular layer deposition for ultrathin layers

Packaging materials are typically laminates consisting of several layers of different polymers and aluminum foil. Sorting of such materials is challenging, which prevents efficient material and energy recovery. Atomic and Molecular Layer Deposition (ALD/MLD) can be used for creating thin and flexible barrier films for environmentally friendly packaging solutions. In addition, the unique nature of these technologies enables building other functionalities also for increasing number of other end applications and materials.
